This Saturday, August 29, 2009, celebrate the kickoff of college football season at Smyrna Market Village! The party starts at 2 pm and lasts until 10 pm. Great food will be available from local BBQ joints, and Beer and wine will be there from Atkin’s Park and Zucca Bar & Pizzeria. Non BBQ food & non-alcoholic beverages will be available too. Bands including Under the Porch, My Friend Ian’s Band, and The Commitaphobics will be performing. Also, there will be a Kids Zone, so bring the whole family.
College Mascots including Pounce (GA State), Buzz (GA Tech) & Scrappy (Kennesaw State) will be here, along with the UGA Cheerleaders! On Monday, September 7, 2009, Labor Day, the 2009 US 10K Classic run will be held in Smyrna, GA. This is a race dedicated to raising awareness and funds for children’s charities in Georgia and for the future development of the World Children’s Center. It is Atlanta’s premier multi-event road race, and brings everyone from cyclists to runners together.
The 100K Pro Cycling event and 6.2 mile road race is held along Hwy 41 (Cobb Parkway). This road offers a straight course, with a bit of a challenge. Anyone is invited to participate. Professional athletes will be in attendance, as well as local walkers, just wanting to help raise awareness for a great cause. Have you seen all the parks around Smyrna? Chattahoochee Park, Terrell Mill Park, Tolleson Park and Jonquil Park are just a few that are located within 10 minutes from Circle 75 Townhomes.
