Holiday Highlights in Cobb this Weekend!

This Saturday, there is something for everyone around Circle 75 Townhomes in Atlanta. Whether you are big or small, young or old, there is something happening for you.
The Mable House Arts Center will have Concerts in the Tea Room. Only $40 for a table of four, and you will enjoy an evening of great entertainment. Joanna Maddox will perform while you indulge in heavy hors d’oeuvres, wine and coffee.
If Christmas music is more of your style this time of year, pianist Jim Brickman will be performing his Beautiful World Christmas 2009 at the Cobb Energy Center. Jim and his guests showcase an evening of amazing solo piano, vibrant vocals plus warmth and humor. Coming Home for the Holidays

On Tuesday, December 1 join your neighbors and friends at the Village Green for Coming Home for the Holidays, a Christmas tree lighting and holiday celebration. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. and will last until 9 p.m. Santa will begin the tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m.
Join us on the Village Green for this big holiday community heart warming event. Santa will be there to say hello to the little ones, hear their Christmas wish lists and take pictures. Children’s activities and fun holiday events will take place and should provide fun for the whole family!

Atlanta Broadway Series at the Cobb Energy Center

Some great plays are coming to the Cobb Energy Center in the upcoming months. The Atlanta Broadway Series has 3 shows between now and May of 2010.
Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps will be showing December 1-6, 2009. This 2 time Tony Award winner mixes a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel. This is one of Broadway’s most intriguing, most thrilling, most riotous comedies! The mind-blowing cast of 4 actors playing over 150 characters takes you on an extraordinarily entertaining adventure. With the holidays quickly approaching, Cobb County townhomes Circle 75 wanted to give something back to the community. From now through the January 5, we will be collecting blankets for the Cobb Animal Control.
What better time to clean out your linen closet than around the holiday season? Cobb County Animal Control is always in need of blankets and sheets to use in kennels for cats & dogs.
Donations are down this year so Circle 75 decided to give back to Cobb County. The blankets donated are used to help keep the animals warm throughout the impending winter months.

Visit Santa in Smyrna

Santa will be at the Smyrna Welcome Center (Aunt Fanny’s Cabin) weekends during December. On Fridays and Saturdays, you can bring your children to visit Santa from 6-8 pm. On Sundays, he will be there from 1 – 3 pm. Bring your Christmas list and tell Santa if you’ve been naughty or nice.
If you can’t make it to the Smyrna Welcome Center, Cumberland Mall will have Santa from November 21 – December 24. The mall will also be having a special event, Pets with Santa on Monday nights from 6 – 9 pm. Your pooch is part of the family too, and I am sure he wants a few surprises for Christmas.

Silver Comet Half Marathon Halloween 09

This Halloween, why not do something fun and healthy before chowing down on all the sweets and goodies?
On Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 7:30 am, the Silver Comet Half Marathon Halloween 09 will take place. The race will begin at the Mable House Cultural Arts Center located at 5239 Floyd Road, Mableton, GA 30126. A 2 mile fun run will begin after the half marathon starts, and it will end at the Bike Depot.

The tour will take place from 1 – 6 p.m. in Vinings Jubilee, with registration from 1– 5 p.m. at Social Vinings located at 3621 Vinings Slope Drive, Atlanta, GA 30339.
