On Saturday, August 29, 2009, the College Colors Day Fanfest will be taking place at Smyrna Market Village. Bands including Under the Porch, My Friend Ian’s Band, and The Commitaphobics will be performing. Also, there will be a Kids Zone, so bring the whole family. BBQ will be available from local joints, and Beer and wine will be there from Atkin’s Park and Zucca Bar & Pizzeria. Non BBQ food & non-alcoholic beverages will be available too. Also, there will be college mascots and pep band there. Come wearing your team colors for a fun day!
On October 24-25, 2009, also at Smyrna Market Village, there will be the Fall Jonquil Festival. This is an arts and crafts festival, with artists set in booths for your shopping pleasure. Also, sample festival foods and a Harvest Fresh Market.
Also, every Tuesday until late fall, there is Farmer’s Atlanta Road Market (F.A.R.M.). This market will sell locally produced eggs, cheese, beef, chicken, breads, honey, plants & perennials, and much more. F.A.R.M. will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., at St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church on Cooper Lake Road.
Nearby is also the Marietta Square. Here, there are often free events such as the First Friday Art Walk: an art walk held the first Friday of the month where local artists set up booths. Every Saturday from 9 a.m. – noon, there is a farmers market set up, for those who can’t make it to F.A.R.M. on Tuesdays. The Glover Park Concert Series is held the last Friday of the month, and offers live music out in the square. Bring a blanket, a picnic and relax with live music.
As you can see, there is always something happening near these great Atlanta Townhomes.
