Wheeler High School is located in northeast Cobb County and is the high school for Circle 75 residents. Wheeler is a standard public school of the State of Georgia, accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and has been in operation since 1965. Lead by Principal David Chiprany, 81% of the 1,900 students attend college after graduation, making Wheeler one of the top ranked schools in the state of Georgia and the perfect place for students of Atlanta’s Circle 75 townhomes students to attend high school.
Wheeler is also known for being home to The Center for Advance Studies. This program is part of the National Consortium of Science, Math and Technology Magnet Schools and offers an advanced curriculum to highly motivated students. Students who participate in the magnet program at Wheeler are often taking college level courses by their junior year of high school.
The magnet program offers students an intimate, challenging education with like-minded peers. Admission is open to all qualified eighth graders who reside in Cobb County, but make sure you get yours forms complete as the admissions process is very competitive. Applications are due in early December.
Wheeler offers a wide array of extracurricular activities and approximately 30% of the student body participate in athletics and 90% participate in at least one extracurricular activity. With their dedication to excellence in learning, extracurriculars and sports, Wheeler provides a challenging, yet fun environment for students to learn and grow before they head off to college.
